Youth Advisory Council
Who Are We?
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) for the YDI is comprised of YDI Ambassadors, a group of dedicated youth (ages 15-18) in BC. YDI Ambassadors are passionate about improving youth health and well-being for current and future generations of young people within the province. By providing valuable youth perspectives on many aspects of the YDI including survey development, strategies for public and youth communication, and social media engagement, the YDI project is continuously improved for BC youth.
The YDI Ambassadors developed introductory videos to the YDI for public engagement and are now expanding the reach of the project by developing and fostering a YDI social media presence. In addition, YDI Ambassadors work to promote and engage different stakeholders such as their peers, schools, and even districts, with the YDI project.
To acknowledge the diversity in youth perspectives and experiences across the province, the YAC includes members across British Columbia, with representation from Vancouver Island, the North Coast, the Kootenays, and the Lower Mainland. As a result, YAC meetings are held virtually throughout the year.
